East to East

Currently exhibited in Rencontres d’Arles

These pictures taken by Klavdij Sluban during trans-Siberian journeys in China, Mongolia and Russia are published in the book East to East (Transsibériades, winner of the European Publishers Award for Photography in 2009). Klavdij Sluban travelled by train in the Far East, searching for living creatures: fleeing animals and humans caught in the oppressive immensity and infinite silence that are always so extraordinarily perceptible in his work.
