The "I Remember You Well" series is part of my research on time and memory, and involves the concept of intimacy as a relationship of the self with the outside world through the gaze. These images are born from fascination towards photography’s potential to work as uncontrovertible proof of the existence of the represented subject. In these pictures, though, it is not just the subject who is proved to have been real, in some past space-time junction: it is also the kind of relationship and the feeling towards the subject to be represented, verified. The existence of these feelings is the very basis for the capability to create a memory. These images share the human attempt to keep and understand the ephemeral, and life, since "It is in this space between absence and mourning, that portaiture’s motionless interval discloses" (Jean-Christophe Bailly).

La serie "I Remember You Well" è una tappa della mia ricerca sul tempo e sulla memoria, basata sul concetto di intimità come relazione del sé con il mondo esterno attraverso lo sguardo. Queste immagini nascono dalla fascinazione per capacità della fotografia di essere prova incontrovertibile dell’esistenza del soggetto rappresentato. In queste immagini, però, non è soltanto l’esistenza del soggetto in una qualche congiunzione spazio-temporale a essere provata: anche il tipo di relazione, il sentimento nei confronti del soggetto sono rappresentati e verificati. L’esistenza di tali sentimenti è la base stessa della capacità di creare una memoria. Queste immagini si inseriscono nel tentativo, umano, di trattenere e capire l’effimero, la vita, perchè "è in questo spazio fra assenza e lutto che viene ad aprirsi l’immobile intermezzo del ritratto" (Jean-Christophe Bailly).
